Addons
Installing and managing addons for your project.
An addon is an optional extra you switch on to give your project new abilities — without rebuilding anything. This is also where 2,000+ integrations live, so connecting your app to the other tools you use is usually just a toggle away.

What turning on an addon does
Switching on an addon adds a capability to your project — a new integration, a new piece of functionality — that your app can then use. You don't rebuild or redeploy your whole app to get it; you enable the addon and it's available.
Because the 2,000+ integrations live here, addons are how you connect your project to the wider world: the payment tool, the email service, the CRM you already use.
Does it cost money or need a key?
Some addons just switch on. Others need a little setup, so it's worth knowing before you enable one:
- Some need a key or credential — for example, the API key for a service you're connecting to. That value goes in your project's secure storage, not into the addon card itself. See Secrets and Credentials.
- Some may add usage cost — if an addon calls a paid service, that usage can cost money. Check what an addon connects to before relying on it.
An addon never quietly pockets a secret. Any key it needs is stored in your project's secure storage, where you control it — and you can see and remove it at any time.
Removing an addon
Removal is clean. Switch an addon off and the capability it added goes away — no leftover mess, no half-removed pieces lingering in your project.
Good to know
- No rebuild required. Addons extend your project as you go.
- You're in control of keys and cost. Credentials live in secure storage; check for usage costs before enabling.
- On and off are both clean. Enable to add a capability, disable to remove it.
