AI providers

Use Pikku Studio Cloud’s built-in AI, or bring your own provider key.

Anything in your app that uses AI — an agent, a workflow step, a smart function — needs an AI provider behind it. The AI providers page lets you choose: use the AI that Pikku Studio Cloud provides out of the box, or bring your own key from a provider you already pay for. Open it from the AI item in your organization menu.

Annotated screenshot of the AI providers page: a table of providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, and others) each with a "Pikku Studio Cloud" or "Your key" badge, an "Add key" button, and one provider expanded to show a masked key. Callout: "Use Pikku Studio Cloud's AI, or plug in your own key per provider."

Two ways to power AI

  • Use Pikku Studio Cloud's AI. The simplest option — nothing to set up. AI usage is metered and billed alongside everything else, and shows up on your Usage page. This is the default for every provider.
  • Bring your own key. Already have an account with a provider? Paste in your key and Pikku Studio Cloud routes that provider's calls through your account instead. You pay the provider directly, on your own terms.

You set this per provider, so you can mix — your own key for one, Pikku Studio Cloud's AI for another.

Adding your own key

Click Add key, choose the provider, and paste the key. It's stored securely and shown only as a masked hint afterwards — never exposed in your code or to anyone outside your organization. Remove or replace it any time.

Bringing your own key is the most direct way to control AI cost: you pay the provider at their rate, and that spend leaves your Pikku Studio Cloud balance untouched.

Keys per environment

You can use one key everywhere, or set different keys for different places — for example, a separate key for your sandboxes so day-to-day building doesn't draw on the same account as your live app. Set the broad default first; add a more specific key only where you need one.
