Functions

A function is one small job your backend does — like "send a welcome email" or "charge a card." The Functions view lists every function you've shipped, and for each one, every version it has ever had. It's your complete record of what's running and what ran before.

Why there are versions

Each time you change a function, Pikku Studio Cloud saves the previous one rather than throwing it away. So a single function builds up a history — v1, v2, v3, and so on — and you can always see and return to any of them.

Versions are keyed to the function's contract — the shape of what goes in and what comes out. As long as that contract stays the same, Pikku Studio Cloud can swap versions safely behind the scenes without anything else needing to change.

Going back to an earlier version

If a new version misbehaves, you don't have to fix it under pressure. You roll back.

• One-click rollback. Pick an earlier version and Pikku Studio Cloud redeploys it. Because that version was already built, there's nothing to rebuild — the switch is quick.
• No downtime. Switching back is seamless — in-progress work finishes on the version it started on, while new requests move to the restored version. This graceful handover is called draining.

Which version is live right now?

The Functions view always shows which version is currently serving real traffic — marked Live — alongside the older versions in its history. You never have to guess what your customers are actually hitting.
