The Weave
Every function, route, workflow, and agent — woven into one live picture.
Your app is more than the screens you click through. Behind the preview there are functions, API routes, real-time channels, background jobs, emails, workflows, and agents — and the Weave shows all of it at once, as a living cloth spun out from the Pikku Studio Cloud mark at the centre. Every piece of your app is a stitch; every stitch is connected back to the whole.
Annotated screenshot of the Weave screen: the Pikku Studio Cloud mark glowing at the centre of a dark field, dozens of small colour-coded pieces (functions, routes, workflows, agents) arranged around it, each tethered to the centre by a fine curved thread. One freshly added piece is lit up with a bright electric thread. Callouts: "Every piece of your app" and "New pieces light up as they're woven."
Watch your app being woven
While the builder is working, the Weave is live. The moment the agent adds a new function, route, or workflow, its piece appears on the cloth — lit up with an electric thread from the centre — then settles back to rest a few seconds later. During your project's first build this is the main event: you can watch the app take shape piece by piece, and the Go to app button lights up as soon as there's a running app to open.
After the first build it stays useful as a map: one glance tells you what your app is actually made of, without reading a line of code.
What counts as a piece
Each piece is colour- and icon-coded by what it is:
- Functions — the units of logic everything else calls.
- API routes — the HTTP endpoints your frontend and integrations hit.
- Pages — the frontend screens people open in the browser.
- Channels — real-time connections for live updates.
- Queues and scheduled tasks — background work and things that run on a timer.
- Workflows and user flows — multi-step processes, and the scenarios that click through your app like a real user.
- Agents — the AI agents declared in your codebase, with the tools they use.
- Emails — every transactional email your app can send.
- MCP tools, triggers, and CLI commands — the ways other systems and assistants reach into your app.
The Weave only shows what was woven for your app. The scaffolding Pikku Studio Cloud itself provides — auth plumbing, console wiring, generated helpers — is filtered out, so the picture is your product, not the loom it runs on.
Two ways to look at it
A toggle in the header switches between two layouts:
- Woven — every piece threads straight back to the mark at the centre, spiralling outward in roughly the order it was built. Best for watching a build land and for a quick sense of scale.
- Graph — the pieces arrange themselves by how they reference each other: API routes cluster around the function they call, workflows link out to their step functions, agents to their tools. Hover any piece and its whole path lights up — from that piece, through everything it touches, back to the core. This is the cloud of your app made visible.
You can also narrow the field with the type filter (show only workflows, only emails, and so on), which is handy once an app grows past a few dozen pieces.
Click to inspect
Every piece is clickable:
- Most pieces open a read-only detail drawer on the right — the same inspector the deployment pages use — showing the piece's configuration: an API route's method and schema, a workflow's steps, an agent's tools.
- Emails open with a rendered preview of the actual template.
- Pages are the exception: clicking one opens that route of your live app in a new browser tab.
Inspecting from the Weave never changes anything — it's a window, not an editor. To change what you see, go back to Chat.
The Weave is the honest inventory of your app. If a feature you asked for doesn't have a piece on the cloth, it doesn't exist yet — and if a piece appears that you didn't expect, that's worth a question in the chat.
Where it lives
The Weave is a screen in your sandbox's navigation, and the same view fills the builder while your app's first build is still in progress. Once the app is running, Go to app takes you straight to the live preview.
Where to go next
- Builder overview — how the builder that weaves these pieces works.
- App preview — the running app the Weave sits alongside.
- Workflows and Agents — deeper views of two kinds of pieces.
- User flows (scenarios) — the journeys that prove the pieces work together.
